A member of the United Methodist family of churches with nearly 10 million members worldwide. Our church offers a community of prayer that believes deeply in the life-transforming power of faith. The United Methodist Church of Bala Cynwyd (or Bala as we call it) is a beautiful place of worship with a magnificent and creative ministry of music. We are a diverse community committed to the teachings of Jesus through liturgy and proclamation. We do our best to avoid the simple answers but instead ask harder questions pertaining to ways faith influences and impacts the real world and seeks to respond compassionately to physical and spiritual needs inside and outside of our congregation.

Here's what we offer:

• A Sunday School with a class for every member of the family, meeting every Sunday September through June.
• A youth program that blends attention to a young person’s social and spiritual needs, with a motivated Director of Christian Education/Youth Chaplain on staff.
• A Children’s Chapel (September- June) that provides an alternative worship experience custom fitted for the inspirational up-building of our little ones.
• Special sacred and social gatherings scheduled regularly through out the year.
• An assortment of worthy, life-enriching programs operating out of our facilities, including:
  
  • An office providing family, couple and individual therapy
  • Weight Watchers
  • ITC, teaches communication skills to women

  • Nov. 23 (Sunday), 10:30 a.m. - Student Sunday, Speaker--David Schrader.
  • Nov. 23 (Sunday), 4:00 p.m. - Thanksgiving Service at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
  • Nov. 30 (Sunday), 8:15 a.m. - Continental Breakfast.
  • Dec. 6 (Saturday), 9:30 a.m. - Decorate the church.
  • Dec. 7 (Sunday), 4:00 p.m. - Christmas Vespers.
  • Dec. 14 (Sunday), after worship to Paula Engard's for lunch then go Christmas Caroling
  • Dec. 24 (Wednesday), 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Candle light service
